I loveee a good layout challenge, and Ashley’s living room sure did deliver! When dealing with very small spaces (in this case, a New York City apartment), it is so important to make the space still feel bigger than it physically is. Luckily, my client had great inspiration that helped to our advantage. With more bright and neutral bases, and some darker contrasting decor elements, I was able to nail this design, while not overwhelming the space.

Ashley loves to entertain, so we made sure to include plenty of flexible seating while also fitting in a set of tables and chairs! Since this was an apartment project, nothing could be too permanent. For the black stripe behind the couch, we used a peel and stick wallpaper. Long story short, don’t let being a renter stop you from obtaining your dream space!
